We value reaching outside our church walls in Jesus’ name. This is the way we share God’s love with others in our community and beyond.  God is constantly giving us “divine assignments” to reach outward in His name. Seek an opportunity that best matches your heart.

UMCOR comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters - be it famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events—to alleviate suffering and to be a source of help and hope for those left most vulnerable. We provide relief, response and long-term recovery grants when these events overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on their own. UMCOR also provides technical support and training for partners to address emerging and ongoing issues related to disaster relief, recovery, and long-term health and development. Long's Chapel has a designated account for UMCOR where we give donations as they are received. Visit the UMCOR site to learn more!

First Fruits

First Fruits Ministry began in 2014 by providing snacks to the students at Tuscola and Pisgah High School. In 2020, the direction of this ministry changed. First Fruits now provides daily lunches for students who do not have the financial means to get second helpings of lunch items, or maybe their food account has been used up.  All financial donations will be collected by the church and sent directly to The Haywood County Schools Foundation who will administer and disperse the funds as needed to each school upon request.

The Deaf Ministry

The Deaf Ministry began in 2003 at Long's Chapel with a mission to serve the deaf so they too can know the love of Jesus. This ministry has held Sunday school, deaf choir, and bible studies. At the 9:00 service, an interpreter is always available, including in the live feed on Facebook.
