Long’s Chapel Disaster Response
Long's Chapel is responding to the Helene destruction by hosting and partnering with 223+ teams from across the United States—and more than 25 organizations and churches to minister to and rebuild our community one home and one life at a time. These mission groups are giving their time, skills, and energy to rebuild homes, restore hope and dignity, and share God’s love in action. In the last 12 months over 670 projects have been completed in 16 counties from muck out to remediation, rebuilds and new home sites, debris clearing, and tree cleanup, etc. Your generosity in time, talents, and gifts is making a difference in WNC .
One of the many servant-leaders making this mission possible is Myra Steadman, Long's Chapel Finance Manager. With quiet faith and deep compassion, Myra has taken on the additional role of Disaster Response Coordinator, after witnessing firsthand the continuing devastation in our communities.
