June 3 — Session 1

Immigration & the Christian Response

“Borders, Compassion, Law, and Human Dignity”

We’ll explore biblical themes of hospitality, justice, citizenship, compassion for the stranger, national responsibility, and the tensions surrounding immigration in today’s world.

July 1 — Session 2

Just War, Peace, and Christian Ethics

“When Is the Use of Force Justified?”

From Augustine to modern conflict, Christians have wrestled with questions of war, peace, protection, violence, sacrifice, and peacemaking. Together we’ll examine the moral and spiritual tensions involved.

August 5 — Session 3

Artificial Intelligence & What It Means to Be Human

“Technology, Truth, and the Human Soul”

How should Christians think about artificial intelligence, automation, misinformation, relationships, work, creativity, and the future of humanity? What makes human beings uniquely created in the image of God?

September 2 — Session 4

Courtesy, Civility, and Faithful Disagreement

“Speaking Truth in Love”

In an age of outrage and division, how can Christians model humility, kindness, courage, truthfulness, and grace? We’ll discuss healthy disagreement, listening well, and maintaining unity without demanding uniformity.

Café Chats | Thoughtful Conversation for a Complex World

June 3 • July 1 • August 5 • September 2 Wednesdays • 10:00–11:00am, 6:00-7:00pm

We live in a world filled with noise, outrage, division, and endless opinions. As followers of Jesus, how do we think faithfully, speak graciously, and engage difficult issues with both conviction and compassion?

Café Chats is a new conversation-based small group designed to help us practice faithful Christian discernment in a complicated age. Together, we’ll explore some of today’s most challenging social and cultural topics through the lens of the Wesleyan Quadrilateral — Scripture, tradition, reason, and experience — seeking wisdom rather than easy answers.

Each one-hour gathering begins with a brief 15-minute overview of the issue and a broad introduction to how the Quadrilateral can help shape a Christian perspective, followed by guided table conversation and reflection.

This is not a debate club or a place for political talking points. Café Chats is a space for thoughtful conversation, deep listening, humility, curiosity, and grace as we learn together how to follow Jesus in the real world.

Come for one session or journey through all four. No preparation or expertise required — just a willingness to listen, learn, and engage.

Join us this summer for a relaxed and meaningful 4-session marriage small group built around Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas. Together, we’ll explore a powerful question: What if God designed marriage not just to make us happy, but to make us holy? Through honest conversation, biblical encouragement, practical insight, and shared experiences, couples will grow deeper in communication, connection, grace, and spiritual purpose. Whether you’re newly married or have been together for decades, this group is designed to strengthen your relationship and encourage your walk with Christ alongside other couples in a welcoming and authentic environment.
