ABOUT THE CHILD ENRICHMENT CENTER

Long's Chapel Child Enrichment Center is a ministry of Long's Chapel that seeks to reflect the highest Christian values and the best of care for children. The CEC began in 1965, and in the first year enrolled 35 children into the church-operated weekly kindergarten program. Now, Long's Chapel CEC enrolls over 100 children throughout the year. The CEC has a strong history of embodying the mission of introducing an age-appropriate curriculum while nurturing the development of faith.

NC PreK Program - The NC PreK Program is designed to provide high-quality educational experiences to enhance school readiness for eligible four-year-old children. The NC PreK Program requirements are built on the National Education Goals Panel’s premise that to be successful academically in school, children need to be prepared in all five of the developmental domains that are critical to children’s overall well-being and success in reading and math as they enter school. For your child to qualify, he/she must have turned four on or before August 31 of the program year. NC PreK students will attend the CEC from 8:00 am-3:00 pm daily, with additional care options available from 3:00-6:00 pm if needed.

  • Long’s Chapel Child Enrichment Center uses Creative Curriculum and Connect 4 Learning in our NC PreK classroom. We want to provide a variety of learning experiences for a well-rounded education. Based on the theory that children learn through play, classroom routines encourage active involvement, meaning experimentation and reinforcement through repetition. Schedules are designed to balance structure and free choice, as well as active and quiet times.

Creative Curriculum and Connect 4 Learning allows children to make their own choices, become involved, and cooperate with others.

In a caring and positive environment, we create a warm and happy place for children to develop and learn. As we bridge the gap from home to school, we guide children to a positive self-image while building social skills in an age-appropriate, developmental setting.
