Mission Statement: We aim to mitigate food insecurity in Haywood County while restoring hope and self-worth to all who come through our doors, as they encounter the love and delivering power of Jesus Christ.

Donations are the fuel that keep The Open Door Ministries engine running. Donations of useable goods, materials, and food are gratefully accepted as are monetary donations. Donation receipts are available for tax purposes.

Welcome to The Open Door

The Open Door is a community based and supported Christian organization located in Waynesville, North Carolina. We seek to live out our faith by providing food, clothing, living assistance and encouragement by offering hope and introducing others to a transformed life through Jesus Christ.

The Open Door has been vitally serving our community through a food truck ministry. Not only does this ministry provide a hot lunch to anyone who would like to enjoy it Monday through Friday, it also includes an overnight food bag for our unsheltered neighbors. This ministry has become a lifeline for not only the unsheltered in our midst, but also to the local working-class who continue to keep our beloved community running. Whether it’s a quick lunch break for the workers at Giles Chemicals or a meal for the employees working at Haywood Vocational Opportunities, this food truck ministry keeps our community fed!
