“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead (1902-1978)
Our community needs your help. The kitchen operates 365 days a year and provides over 30,000 meals every year; that takes a lot of cooking, serving, and dish washing. The Thrift Store is open six days a week and there is a constant stream of items that need processing. Then there are always those maintenance and repair items on the premises that need skilled workers such as carpenters and electricians . And, don’t forget about those tasks involving one on one interaction with clients such as teaching, grooming, consoling, etc.
In a ministry as broad as that of The Open Door, there is room for and need of just about all kinds of skills. No matter your particular skill or talent there is a unique and specific way in which you can help. The hours are flexible and the rewards are great. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
