COVID-19 Updates from Long's Chapel
Updated: 4 days ago
In adherence to guidelines and safety recommendations made by our bishop (CLICK HERE) and governmental officials, Long’s Chapel has determined to suspend in-person worship and campus gatherings (excluding our Child Enrichment Center) until further notice. With the recommendations and regulations changing daily with COVID-19, we feel closing until we know it is safe for you and our community is best.
We will continue to offer our worship services online. Our live feeds can be found on Facebook or the “Sermons” tab on our website located HERE. While we miss seeing you in person, this is also an opportunity to REACH more people than ever before digitally. Please continue to share our services and ‘like’ and ‘comment’. The more engagement we can generate online, the more we are able to REACH others!
Let’s get together online, not just on Sunday, but during the week as well. Long’s Chapel pastors and ministry team will continue to offer a weekday (Monday-Friday) devotional/prayer time via Facebook Live promptly at noon.
Please continue to pray. Pray for healing. Pray for our medical community. Pray for our government officials. Pray for those impacted economically. Send us your prayer requests. You may send those directly to Reverend Tim or submit those online HERE.
For those who normally give during our worship service, please consider taking a moment to learn how to give online at www.longschapel.com/give. There are numerous ways to continue your spiritual stewardship during our closure, including by a simple text message!
While our campus may be closed, the people that are the church are open, alive and vitally serving. Please continue to call our main phone line at Long’s Chapel if you need assistance at 828.456.3993. Voice messages will be routed to the appropriate pastor and staff member. Our staff contact information and emails are available HERE.
We hope and pray you understand our want to keep you safe. We will continue to do everything in our power to nurture your spirituality and faith during this time. We are sending you our blessings and love. We miss you all tremendously and hope to see you again very soon!
Stay healthy and faithful Long’s Chapel,

If you haven’t already, sign up for the Revolution Students email notifications by contacting Shawn at Shawn.Winburn@LongsChapel.com.
Child Enrichment Center - Childcare centers may remain open and have been encouraged to stay open by our local Department of Health & Human Services to support essential workers. We are following new guidelines that were put into place on March 25. We are also currently completing an application that allows us to remain open after March 31. This application gives specific criteria that must be met to continue operation. Long’s Chapel has agreed to proceed with this process to be a resource to our community. We want to remain faithful to our families and take all necessary precautions while also abiding by governmental recommendations. This is an ever-evolving situation. We will continue to take this very seriously and day-by-day for our CEC.
The Hangout - As of March 23, Governor Cooper stated that North Carolina’s public schools would remain closed until at least May 15. Children in The Hangout are all affected by that declaration. Our current schedule has The Hangout ending for the 2019-2020 year on May 22, meaning we would only be in session for one week if school is not determined to close further. In adherence to guidelines and safety of our children and staff, it was determined The Hangout would close for the remainder of this school year and resume for 2020-2021.
The Open Door Ministry & Second Blessing Thrift Shop – The Open Door has closed the dining area until further notice. The ministry is serving daily food boxes, 9:00 am-1:00 pm, for those in need. The Open Door needs donations. Items include: peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers, fruit cups, protein bars, granola bars, hand sanitizer, cans of meat, packages of tuna, single serve bags of chips, and any dry or canned goods. Wipes for homeless to maintain hygiene are also needed. Donations may be dropped off anytime at The Open Door. Second Blessing Thrift Shop has closed until further notice.
