At some point in everyone's life, we face the pain of grief.  Grief is a normal and healthy aspect of life.  It results not only from the death of a loved one, but also from a terminal illness, divorce, the loss of a relationship or job, the death of a pet, even the loss of a dream.

Unmanaged, grief can disrupt an otherwise healthy life, limit our activities, create depression and despair.  Unresolved grief can result in recurring illness and life threatening disease.

Long's Chapel is priviledged to have Jan Charlotte lead a support group through the grief process.  Jan has a B.S. in Medical Technology and an M.S. in grief, aging, and support for Alzheimer's caregivers.  She has studied with and has a certificate from Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, author of On Death and Dying and the originator of the Life, Death, and Transition course.

In a classroom format including lecture, discussion, and personal sharing, the group sessions provide the opportunity to learn to recognize and deal with grief, rise above it, and return to life in harmony.
