Friends for Jesus
When you read the Gospels, it is evident that Jesus has great compassion for people with disabilities and their families. Often, the Gospels show Jesus preferring to spend time with the “least” rather than with people of wealth, influence, power, or even those in the religious hierarchy. Whether it was the man born blind in John 9, or the individual with the withered hand in Luke 14, Jesus was "moved with compassion" whenever he encountered people with disabilities. In Luke 14:13, 21, 23, He even gave us a mandate, “When you give a banquet… invite the poor, crippled, the lame and the blind… go out into the highways and country lanes… to the streets and alleys… compel them to come in… so that my Father’s house may be full.”
Friends for Jesus is a fellowship group for adults with disabilities. It meets on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm for dinner in the Fellowship Hall followed by a variety of creative service and study activities.
