Prayer Ministry
The purpose of the Prayer Ministry is to actively encourage believers to make prayer a priority in their daily lives. By being open and responsive to the working of the Holy Spirit, we invite God's love, guidance, and healing and redemptive power to be released for the benefit of His people and for His glorification. The Prayer Ministry provides formats to allow individuals to join in group prayer to become the recipient of the power of prayer.
The telephone prayer chain provides prayer support for emergency situations, illness, surgery, or bereavement and for guidance in times of crisis, which occur throughout the week. We have two evening chains and two daytime chains praying seven days a week. Requests remain on the chain for one month or more based on circumstances. All requests are treated with complete confidentiality. You may contact Eliza Matthews (456-1948) or Sylvia Beasley (926-8886) with these prayer needs.
The e-mail prayer chain uplifts the prayer requests submitted during the Sunday worship services. These prayer requests are then provided by e-mail to volunteers who pray throughout the week for the needs expressed. A “prayer-gram” can also be sent upon request to those for whom we are praying, letting them know that they are being lifted up by this body of believers. Again, these requests are kept in strict confidence.
The online prayer board provides an opportunity to involve all members of the church community in prayers of petition, thanksgiving, adoration, or reparation. Public joys or sorrows, blessing received, or simply prayers that you want to share with your church family can be posted.
Prayer with the pastors seeks God’s anointing upon the Sunday morning worship services. Volunteers pray for the pastors, those who will attend, and that God will reveal himself through his word.
Currently there are three prayer groups which meet weekly for the purpose of the contemplative or listening prayer during which time a scripture is read and meditated upon, allowing God to speak to the individuals about the passage.

The Prayer Ministry offers various classes during Acts 2:42 on Wednesday evenings, as well as seminars or video presentations throughout the year to learn more about prayer and become more disciplined. We provide teachers, speakers and authors, whose inspirational presentations have been a blessing and encouragement to many of our congregation.

The monthly prayer guide offers scriptural prompts for daily devotional time to uplift in prayer the ministries and current projects of our church as well as the needs of the world. The prayer guide is published each month in the Chapel Chatter.
