The Missions Ministry helps enables Long's Chapel to fulfill its vision of “deploying servants to use their gifts in ministry.” There are five primary areas of responsibility: Missionaries, Projects, Mission Teams, Disaster Relief, and Education.  Since 2001, Long's Chapel has been a UMC Global Mission Partner.

Long's Chapel, as a part of the UMC connectional system, is apportioned an annual amount designated as World Service that serves as an extension of the local churches in mission work on the national and global level.  In addition to these monies given through our World Service apportionment, and designated Mission budget, several Sunday School classes and individual members make regular contributions to help agencies within our county, as well as to The Children’s Home of the Western North Carolina Conference. The Missions Ministry also sponsors several Special Sunday offerings throughout the year, including Communion, Christmas, and Easter offerings. These funds are dispersed among local and global projects.
