Congregational Care
Beloved let us love one another....IJohn 4:7
Long's Chapel recognizes that the needs of a congregation are many and that the senior pastor cannot be everywhere. Members of Long's Chapel are part of a family and a family cares for each other and the community in which it lives. Therefore, it is the mission of the Congregational Care Ministry to equip others to use their God given talents in service to help those in need. The Ministry assists with needs that range from the arrival of a newborn to the illness or death of a loved one, and all of life's traumas in between.
Tele-Care - is a telephone outreach just to be in touch and assess any needs, make referrals to other ministries, to pray with members, or just to listen.

Hospital Visitation - Daily visits to those hospitalized at Haywood Regional Hospital.
Nursing Home Visitation - Weekly visits to local nursing homes.
Home Fires - is our ministry visiting homebound members of our congregation.
Crisis Response - 24/7 on-call person to respond a member's personal crisis.
Knitting Ministry - Knitters united to provide hand-made articles of clothing and blankets for distribution by local charities.
Hand-in Hand - provides one-on-one attention including hospital follow-up, meal delivery, transportation assistance, and ministry to members who are affected by the criminal justice system, whether in prison, a family member, or a victim of crime.
