Long's Chapel offers a variety of programs for adults to seek and foster their faith.  Some programs are ongoing, some are offered  periodically, while others address special needs or interests.  This gives young and older adults the opportunity for faith learning and community in topics that meet their interests as well as the needs of where they are on their spiritual journey.

Ongoing Programs

Disciple Bible Study I, II, III & IV are small groups that meet weekly for 32-34 weeks of intensive study of the Old and New Testaments, and then apply it to themselves and their daily living. Registration is held each summer to begin classes in the fall.

"Fancy Free" Fellowship is for Senior Adults. The group meets each third Thursday of the month in the Fellowship Hall for a "covered dish" luncheon, fellowship and special program.

Acts 2:42 Dinner and Programs Don’t miss Acts 2:42, our Wednesday evening fellowship supper and program. We encourage everyone to participate! We invite everyone to sign up for our meals by filling out a meal reservation card and placing it in one of the "Acts 2:42 Dinner" drop boxes (located at the two exits of the gathering area, Fellowship Hall, and in the Student Life Center), or by calling the office at 456-3993 by 4 pm on Mondays. Cancellations may be given in the same manner. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children, 12 and under, or $15 family maximum. You are welcome to be a part of this fellowship from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. each Wednesday. For information concerning all programs and classes following the meal, pick up an Acts 2:42 brochure at the Welcome Center or near the Coffee Fellowship area just outside the Student Life Center. Program/Bible studies vary and run from September through May of each year.

Periodic Courses

(Please call the church office 456-3993, ext. 17, to sign up for the next available class.)

Becoming a Contagious Christian course is an 8-week study designed to equip believers in sharing the Gospel in a natural and powerful way. The course helps identify for individuals their style of witnessing and provides simple tips on inviting and leading nonbelievers to Jesus Christ.

Crown Ministries is a 10-week study about personal finances based on biblical principles. Your own financial situation is never revealed to the group. However, you are taken through a process that will help you understand your money, finances and how to live managing your money in a healthy, God-honoring way. This is a life-changing course! It is limited to 8 people. It requires 2-3 hours each week in preparation. This course is offered as part of the Acts 2:42 programming.

GriefShare is for those who have lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend.  This special seminar and support group  is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer comfort and encouragement.

Breaking Free: Making Liberty in Christ a Reality in Life leads you through a study of the Scriptures to discover the transforming power of Christian freedom.  Based on Isiah 61:1-4, this study draws parallels between the captive Israelites and today's believers.

New Member Class is held approximately once every quarter. Our pastor leads an "Inquirers Class" for persons interested in knowing more about the Methodist Church and, in particular, Long's Chapel. Class is generally held on a Sunday afternoon/evening with nursery care provided. You are invited to consider this opportunity to explore becoming a member of our church family.
