Long's Chapel offers a variety of programs for adults to seek and foster their faith. Some programs are ongoing, some are offered periodically, while others address special needs or interests. This gives young and older adults the opportunity for faith learning and community in topics that meet their interests as well as the needs of where they are on their spiritual journey.
Ongoing Programs
Disciple Bible Study small groups meet weekly for 32-34 weeks of intensive study of the Old and New Testaments, and then apply it to themselves and their daily living. Registration is held each summer to begin classes in the fall.
"Fancy Free" Fellowship is for Senior Adults. The group meets each third Thursday of the month in the Fellowship Hall for a "covered dish" luncheon, fellowship and special program.
Acts 2:42 Dinner and Programs Don’t miss Acts 2:42, our Wednesday evening fellowship supper and program. We encourage everyone to participate! We invite everyone to sign up for our meals by filling out a meal reservation card and placing it in one of the "Acts 2:42 Dinner" drop boxes (located at the two exits of the gathering area, Fellowship Hall, and in the Student Life Center), or by calling the office at 456-3993 by 4 pm on Mondays. Cancellations may be given in the same manner. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children, 12 and under, or $15 family maximum. You are welcome to be a part of this fellowship from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. each Wednesday. For information concerning all programs and classes following the meal, pick up an Acts 2:42 brochure at the Welcome Center or near the Coffee Fellowship area just outside the Student Life Center. Program/Bible studies vary and run from September through May of each year.
Periodic Courses
New Member Class is held approximately once every quarter. Our pastor leads an "Inquirers Class" for persons interested in knowing more about the Methodist Church and, in particular, Long's Chapel. Class is generally held on a Sunday afternoon/evening with nursery care provided. You are invited to consider this opportunity to explore becoming a member of our church family.
Courses covering a variety of topics are offered throughout the year. Please see the Adult Seasonal Courses page for current offerings.
